The Los Angeles Chargers were often discussed as a trade back candidate during the 2024 NFL Draft. Ultimately, the stayed put and picked OT Joe Alt.

Were there teams trying to move up to their spot? Of course. Did new head coach Jim Harbaugh stay put for a comical reason? That is possible, too.

NFL insider Jeremy Fowler gave an inside look into why the Chargers may have not traded back in round one.

Minnesota -- which selected McCarthy No. 10 overall, having traded up one spot to the New York Jets' spot -- made calls through the top 10 leading up to the draft. The Vikings and Chargers talked. And one league exec wondered if Minnesota passing on Jim Harbaugh for the head-coaching opening two years ago would have caused Harbaugh to be awfully stubborn on any potential deal between the sides.

Of course, this is the thinking from one league executive. Others may disagree. Others may share this reasoning.

Regardless, Harbaugh is a unique character, so it would surprise no one if he took a little bit of frustration out on the Vikings during round one.
