The Minnesota Vikings have had a varying level of success in the NFL Draft over the last decade of so. There have been some big hits, specifically the 2015 NFL Draft. However, success has not been consistent for the Vikings.

One of the ways to look at success in the first round is how often players end up getting their fifth-year option exercised . That is a massive signal that they have been a successful pick. Since the 2018 NFL Draft, the Vikings rank in the bottom 10 of teams in giving out fifth-year options.

This isn't good for a number of reasons, but there is some context. Garrett Bradbury did sign a second contract with the team and Jeff Gladney was released after his first season with the team when charges were brought upon him. The only two players who received the fifth-year option are wide receiver Justin Jefferson and left tackle Christian Darrisaw .

Will Lewis Cine and Jordan Addison get their fifth-year options exercised? That's likely a no and yes, respecitvely.
