AirBnB is offering a stay at Prince’s house from 'Purple Rain'

Fans hoping to feel as close as possible to Prince on the 40th anniversary of his iconic album and movie Purple Rain can now spend a night in the late music icon's home featured in the film.

AirBnB , as part of their new Icons series of listings -- which also includes offerings to stay in a replica of Disney/Pixar's Up house , the X-Men mansion , the Ferrari museum, and more -- is offering up a chance to stay in the Minneapolis home purchased by Prince just 8 months before his passing in April 2016.

The house now owned by the Prince Estate, is located on Snelling Avenue in the Longfellow community of Minneapolis, MN, and was used for exterior scenes showing the home of his character, The Kid, in the movie. The home has remained a popular tourist destination for fans worldwide.

“In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the legendary album and film, the newly restored home," the AirBnB listing reads , "will be open to the public for the first time,” starting August 1.

According to a press release the Icons series is, “a new category of extraordinary experiences hosted by the greatest names in music, film, television, art, sports, and more.” Adding, “Guests will get to explore the home and go crazy for rare and special tracks from Prince’s world in an exclusive studio session.”

The first 11 experiences are available to view now, with more expected in the coming months. Most experiences are either free or priced under $100 per guest, with countdowns showing when each location becomes available. Guests can request to book through the app, and those selected will receive a digital golden ticket.
