Dangerous Man reveals plan for new seasonal taproom, beer garden but needs help

Dangerous Man Brewing, which closed its Northeast Minneapolis taproom last fall, has announced plans to build a new seasonal taproom with an adjacent beer garden.

The business launched a fundraiser asking for $165,000 by the end of June to make its ambitions become reality. The money would go towards growing its current production facility in Maple Lake "towards a sustainable future" and the taproom, which would be located adjacent to the facility.

"To put this amount in perspective, that’s about three months of operating costs to run the production facility. We are so close and have been trending quickly to where we need to be, but we need a little push to get us there," Dangerous Man said.

"If just half of our Instagram followers give $10 or if everyone who was gifted a beer on the house (at the original taproom) gave $25, we will hit our goal!" it said.

As of Thursday, the fundraiser has generated over $17,000, about 10% of its goal.

The outdoor shipping container taproom would be established on the two-acre grassy site outside of the Maple Lake production facility.

"Our mission is to be a destination taproom, focusing on high-quality small-batch production beers. Written over 13 years ago, this statement was the driving force behind Dangerous Man Brewing. We want to be this again, yet in a new way. Are you ready for the evolution?" the fundraiser reads.

The brewery closed its original location in Northeast Minneapolis in October after the building was sold and the new owners reportedly had a different vision for the property.

Chef Yia Vang, owner of Union Hmong Kitchen, announced in September a new restaurant called Vinai will open in the former Dangerous Man space. Its website says the spot will open in summer 2024.
