The Minnesota State University women's basketball team will play for the Division II national championship after winning its Final Four game at the buzzer Wednesday night.

Tied 68-68 with just seconds to play, the Mavericks inbounded the ball and Natalie Bremer found Emily Herzberg for the game-winning layup with 0.2 seconds remaining.

Herzberg was the player passing the ball inbounds and nobody from Cal State San Marcos picked up her, leaving her wide open for the winning play. She finished with 13 points while Bremer led the Mavericks with 29 points.

MSU (31-5) will face Texas Woman's University (34-4) in the national championship game at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Missouri.

It's a rematch from an early November game in which MSU lost to Texas Woman's University 76-71 in the second game of the season during the Montana State University tournament in Billings.

Minnesota State's men's basketball team plays in the Final Four at 3:30 p.m. CT Thursday. CBS Sports Network will televise the men's national semifinal and the women's national championship game.
