Marshall Loch slugged a grand slam in a nine-run first inning en route to Union Grove's 15-2 run-rule-shortened nonconference win over Milton on Saturday morning.

The first seven Broncos to come to the plate reached base, and they loaded the bases a second time in the first after Loch's grand slam, which put Union Grove up 5-0.

Another run scored on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch, then Dessart smashed a two-run double to center field. Bloxdorf sent a sacrifice fly to right for the first inning's second out and a 9-0 lead for the Broncos.

Braylen Vande Berg hit a two-run homer for the Red Hawks that made it 11-2 in the third, but Union Grove added runs in the fourth and fifth to stretch its lead and end the game early.

Milton will face another stern test in its next game at Sun Prairie East, which is ranked No. 1 in Division 1 by the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association. That game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday.
