Catamount Corner - April 23, 2024
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Welcome to Catamount Corner, where each month we catch up with UVM coaches and student-athletes and tell the biggest stories of the month. In today’s show, we kick things off by sitting down with women’s basketball coach Alisa Kresge to reflect on their WNIT run, and hear about how a deep postseason run impacts their offseason timeline. From there, we meet Hamzah Hashmi, an assistant field hockey coach who has made a name for himself as a player, too. Then, we meet track and field’s Nathan Stine, who is a Rubik’s Cube expert, and shows us how quickly he can solve one. After that, we chat with Steve Wiedler after his first season as the UVM head coach and the goals he has for this upcoming offseason. Finally, we check in with both lacrosse teams as their seasons wind down, and Jack gets in the net to take shots from men’s lacrosse star Charlie Pope.
