Milton, Pa. — Police confirmed this morning that two people were shot Tuesday afternoon at the 10 block of Broadway Street in Milton.

Milton Borough Police responded to the call at 4:16 p.m. April 16 for a report of a shooting with two victims. Both of the victims were treated at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, according to a release from Chief Curt Zettlemoyer of Milton Borough Police Department.

Officers located a firearm during the investigation, which they traced to Jose A. Rodriguez Lassalle, 28, a resident of an apartment at 21 Broadway Street. The gun had an altered manufacturer's serial number, according to Zettlemoyer.

Police had a search warrant for the apartment as they were collecting evidence related to the shooting. They found a 9 mm Diamondback firearm with an obliterated serial number, according to the affidavit. Rodriguez Lassalle admitted the firearm was his, according to Officer Bradley Gaugler of Milton Borough Police, who wrote the criminal complaint. The firearm was found in Rodriguez Lassalle's bedroom.

Rodriguez Lassalle was charged with a felony count of possession of a firearm with an altered serial number. He was arraigned this morning at the office of District Judge Michael I. Diehl and committed to Northumberland County Prison.

Police said the investigation into the initial shooting is ongoing. Further details will be provided when available for release.

Multiple police and EMS units assisted Milton Police. Anyone with information may contact Milton Police Department at 570 742-8757.
