Native plant-eating beetles should soon make an appearance in Georgia
Spring season means warm weather, flowers blooming and a visit from the plant eating green June beetle. “They begin to appear around late May, early June depending on where you are in the state,” said Will Hudson, extension entomologist and professor for the Department of Entomology at the University of Georgia. “Where they’re likely to show up mostly has to do with soil temperature. They bury into the soil and emerge as adults in the spring.”
