Keisha Lance Bottoms announces Tyler Perry as part of transition team

Georgia's governor-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms announced the team that will help her transition into office, and it includes filmmaker and media executive Tyler Perry . Bottoms announced Perry would be on her transition team, called "Georgia's Promise," at a news conference on Nov. 6. She called Perry an "entertainment mogul" who is also "a huge philanthropic part of our Georgia community and owns Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta." The former Atlanta mayor previously worked with Perry. Bottoms made her first foray into showbiz as an executive producer on his Netflix political comedy "She the People." Later renamed "Miss Governor," the show premiered in May 2025 and was canceled after its first season. "THANK YOU to everyone who has tuned in and made 'She The People' the hit show we knew it would be," she said in a May 2025 Instagram post. "I was encouraged by some very well meaning people not to join as an Executive Producer of this project. But I have learned that intuition is a super power and sometimes what makes sense to you, just isn’t meant for others to understand." Here's more on Perry joining Bottoms' transition committee. The Lakeland, Florida-headquartered grocer is opening two new stores in the second half of November: one in Mableton, Georgia, and another in Florence, South Carolina. The upcoming locations follow three openings at the beginning of the month in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. Peanut butter on a hot dog? Even Mayor Miller is getting involved

Well, Macon, I’ve apparently started a controversy. And of all the things I could have possibly become known for in this wonderful city, I never imagined it would involve a hot dog, a jar of peanut butter and the Mayor of Macon! But here we are, and apparently my taste in hot dog toppings has become a matter of public discussion. Who knew that something so delicious could cause so much commotion? It all started during a recent episode of my Let’s Eat podcast about Macon Burger Week. One of my fellow Burger Squad members mentioned that cream cheese was an incredibly underrated topping for hamburgers. As we talked about unusual toppings, he suggested cream cheese might even be delicious on a hot dog. That’s when I casually mentioned that my absolute favorite hot dog topping is peanut butter. You would have thought I’d suggested putting motor oil on pancakes! The reactions were priceless, and apparently there are people walking among us who believe peanut butter belongs exclusively on sandwiches, crackers and celery sticks.
