The illustrious collegiate career for Hawaii’s Dillon Gabrierl is approaching its conclusion as the Oregon quarterback completed spring training camp for his graduate senior season this past weekend in Eugene.

The 23 year old who previously played at UCF and Oklahoma, went 14-of-21 for 163 yards passing and two touchdowns leading his Green Team to a spring game win at Autzen Stadium this past Saturday.

Gabriel, who ranked in the top ten nationally in passing yards, touchdowns, and completion percentage last season, will now return home from some rest and recovery along with some infuence.

The 2018 Cover2 Kaulukukui Award winner is hosting the “I’m Inspired” event at his alma mater of Mililani High School. A free celebration featuring food, music, and fun meant to provide motivation for the next generation.

“Mililani has had a special place in my heart for a long time and just the journey there, my four years there, and then also just I think it’s a pivotal time in everyone’s life in high school and learning who you are and your dreams and aspirations and what you want to chase and just at that time. I had great people in my life that pushed me and demanded a lot, but it ultimately got me to the point where I am today. So I’m super grateful for that,” Gabriel said.

He continued, “It’s really a big blessing and more importantly, I’m just trying to pay it forward. I represent more than just myself and my family and my school, but also Mililani and where I came from. So that’s a great reminder for me to continue to stay grounded and rooted in the right stuff.”

Gabriel expressed his excitement about bringing his community together, especially at an upcoming event in Mililani. “I’m just excited. It’s a big time for Mililani, but also getting the community together and then also being able to enjoy some Nesian N.I.N.E. afterwards.”

One of the main attractions of the event will be the unveiling of new uniforms for the Mililani Trojans football team, designed and donated by Gabriel himself on the heels of doing the same for the Mililani basketball team last year. The event, dubbed “I’m Inspired,” is set to take place Friday night from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at John Kauinana Stadium in Mililani. Admission is free.
