    No moment was too big for Wednesday's Fantastic Five MetroWest high school athletes

    When it mattered, they came through. Wednesday's MetroWest and Milford-area Fantastic Five high school athletes delivered championships, pulled off clutch wins and hit milestones.

    Without further ado, here's who stood out Wednesday:

    JOEY BURKE, Wayland boys volleyball

    He pushed out 54 assists with nine digs, two kills and two blocks in a 3-2 win over Milford. Finn Bell hammered down 31 kills with 17 digs and two aces in the 21-25, 27-29, 25-22, 25-23, 16-14 victory. Wayland (10-6) libero Liam Frenzel pulled up 36 digs, while Dylan Engelhardt, Joe Kelly and Cooper Szeremeta had nine kills each.

    SAVANNAH GAO & MADELINE HAHER, Hudson girls track and field

    They each won two events at the Mid-Wach C Championships, as the Hawks placed second as a team. Gao took first in the javelin (111 feet, 2 inches) and discus (102-5). Haher cleared 33-6 to win the triple jump and 16-2 for first in the long jump. Hudson's Olivia Downin placed first in the 400-meter hurdles in 1 minutes, 10.67 seconds. The Hawks also finished first in the 4x100 (52.51) and 4x400 (4:18.13) relays.

    NICO GIORGI WOODFORD, Hudson boys track and field

    He won the triple jump at the Mid-Wach C Championships at 39-1.75 and led the Hawks to a team title with 139.25 points. Hudson also took first in the 4x100-meter relay (45.35).

    AVA McLEOD, AMSA softball

    She registered her 100th career strikeout in a 7-2 win over Millbury. Madelyn Glynn was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Eagles (12-2). AMSA's Abigail Asman touched home twice.

    BRAYDEN LEWIS, Hopedale baseball

    He was 4-for-5 with a double, triple, RBI and a run, as Hopedale took down Nipmuc 6-2 in eight innings to win the Dual Valley Conference championship. Hopedale's Nathan Montville (double, run), Alex Lannibois (RBI, run) and Sam Dalpe were all 2-for-4. Will Adamski threw all eight innings for the Blue Raiders (12-5, 7-1). Jackson Allcock had three hits for the Warriors (8-8, 4-3) .

    Baseball

    TRI-COUNTY 11, Norfolk Aggie 0 (5): Patrick Canavan and Joey Thomas each contributed two hits for the Cougars (7-7). Cougars pitchers Zach Lawrence, Anthony Lum and Sean Trusevitch combined on the two-hit shutout.

    BLACKSTONE VALLEY TECH 8, Uxbridge 4: Max Pilkington and Luke Charron drove in two runs each for the Beavers (13-4). BVT's Corey Magill and Cam Roy connected on two hits each, while Jack Krauss tripled and scored a run. Beavers pitcher DJ Garabedian earned the save with three innings of hitless relief.

    DOVER-SHERBORN 6, Millis 0 (9): Ronan Sullivan threw six shutout innings for the Raiders (10-8, 8-6 TVL). D-S scored six runs in the top of the ninth. Kelan Riggs had tow hits, while Andrew Morse and Talon Shepardson dropped in a hit each.

    FRANKLIN 3, Attleboro 1: Jake Shaughnessy punched out five over six innings, allowing three hits and a walk. he also doubled and drove in a run for the Panthers. Franklin's Dominic Caccavelli was 2-for-3 and scored a run, while Rex Cinelli, Henry DiGiorgio and Ben Youknis (run, walk) each singled.

    WESTFORD ACADEMY 4, Lincoln-Sudbury 1:Jake Haarde homered for the Warriors (13-4), who fell to the host Ghosts in this battle of Dual County League titans. L-S' Matt Mahoney struck out four and allowed just one hit on the mound.

    MARLBOROUGH 3, North Middlesex 2 (8): Jack Finnochario threw all eight innings for the Panthers (8-8, 5-6 Mid-Wach B), allowing just five hits with six strikeouts. Marlborough's Dominic Miele added an RBI and a hit, scoring a run and stealing a base. He drove in the winning run with a walk in the eighth. Luis Ferraras was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while D Romano doubled and drove in a run for the Panthers.

    HOLLISTON 4, Norwood 3: Teddy Peters allowed just two hits and no earned runs over five innings, striking out six for the Panthers. He also had a hit and an RBI. Holliston's Jake Schoenberg drew a walk off walk. Drew Kafka had two hits, while Arav Parjapati tripled and earned the win in relief.

    HUDSON 11, Fitchburg 3: Braeden Murphy had three hits and scored three runs for the Hawks (8-9). Hudson's Blake Freitas touched home four times and dropped in two hits, while Anthony Moura earned the win with nine strikeouts a complete game.

    MILLBURY 3, AMSA 1: Michael Domino was 3-for-3 with a double for the Eagles (8-6).

    BELLINGHAM 11, Dedham 5: Tyler Laducer homered and had three RBIs for the Blackhawks (10-5). Bellingham's CJ Fama allowed just two runs in six innings to earn the win.

    FRAMINGHAM 6, Needham 5: Jackson Donato connected on three hits and scored two runs for the Flyers. Framingham's Jeremy Auren doubled with an RBI and struck out three over five innings. Robby White scored twice and had two hits. Tyler King tripled and scored a run.

    NEWTON NORTH 6, Natick 5: James Bianchi was 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Redhawks. Kyle Koblenzer drove in two runs, while Farr had a hit and an RBI. Natick's Jack Byrne (run) and Braeden Homer had two hits each.

    Softball

    TRI-COUNTY 22, Bristol Aggie 0 (5): Breann McMillan had six RBIs and doubled and tripled with two walks for the Cougars (12-3). Tri-County's Nicole Ayre doubled on a 4-for-4 day and drove in three runs, while Baelynn MacMillan added three hits and two RBIs. Neila Schweitzer earned the win for the Cougars with nine strikeouts against just three hits in the circle.

    MILLIS 13, Dover-Sherborn 1 (6): Riley Caulfield punched out nine and threw a one-hitter for Millis (7-9). Millis' Molly Rand homered, while she, Caulfield, Alicia Ellis and Abby Powers each connected on multiple hits.

    NORTON 7, Medway 1: Katie Anderson, Allyson Fagan and Priya Bedard each dropped in two hits for the Mustangs (9-5, 8-5 TVL).

    HUDSON 9, Doherty 3: Alyssa Davis drove in four runs on a 2-for-4 day, while Taylor Attaway was 3-for-4 with a double for the Hawks (10-5). Hudson's Lauren O'Malley launched a two-run homer, and Livi Sousa contributed two hits.

    LINCOLN-SUDBURY 10, Westford Academy 2: Lia Mazzocchi struck out six over five innings in the circle and didn't allow an earned run for the Warriors (15-0). She also added three RBIs and was 3-for-4. L-S' Ashleigh Lent scored three runs and had two hits, while Abby Venis was 2-for-3 and scored a run.

    WELLESLEY 22, Brookline 1: Elizabeth McDonnell connected on three hits with two RBIs and earned the win in the circle for the Raiders (9-6). Wellesley's Abby Brown, Ryan Renzella and Lucy Stathis each had two hits, two RBIs and two runs.

    UXBRIDGE 17, Blackstone Valley 2: Madison Collins had a two-run double for the Beavers (6-10).

    MARLBOROUGH 8, North Middlesex 7: Catherine Seay went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Carolina Burgos added two hits and two runs, and Taylor Alarie had a hit with three RBIs for the Panthers (9-6, 7-5 Mid-Wach B).

    Boys lacrosse

    ST. BERNARD's 17, Assabet 3: Shane Monaco had two goals and an assist for Assabet (4-11).

    FRANKLIN 12, Mansfield 10: Dylan McEvoy and Zach Langevin contributed six points each for the Panthers, who won their 48th consecutive Hockomock League game. McEvoy had four goals and two assists, while Langevin dished out five assists with a goal. Franklin's CJ Perro put away three goals.

    Girls lacrosse

    LINCOLN-SUDBURY 15, Weston 4: Harper Friedholm put away nine goals on 11 shots and added an assist, three draw controls and a caused turnover for the Warriors (11-2, 8-0 Dual County) on Tuesday. L-S' Tatum Friedholm won seven draw controls with an assist and caused a turnover.

    WELLESLEY 17, Natick 0: Abby Beggans put away five goals with two assists and won 14 draw controls, as the Raiders (12-4, 9-1 Bay State Conference) never lost a draw. Wellesley's Sara Battaglino amassed seven points with four goals and thee assists, while Kaitlyn Uller had four assists and two goals and Olivia Comella notched a hat trick.

    Boys volleyball

    KEEFE TECH 3, Abby Kelley Foster 0: C.J. Sok had nine kills, four aces and five blocks in a 25-18, 25-11, 25-11 victory for the Broncos (16-1). Keefe Tech's Bryan Costa notched four digs, nine kills and two blocks.
