    The force was strong with the weekend's MetroWest Fantastic Five high school athletes

    On a packed sports weekend, these Fantastic Five (or so) MetroWest and Milford-area high school athletes stood out.

    They produced perfection, stood out among the state's best and led their teams to victory with versatile performances.

    Without further ado, the MetroWest and Milford-area Fantastic Five high school athletes from the first weekend in May:

    ELLA CALVEY & BRYNN DI ANNI, Nimpuc softball

    They combined to throw a perfect game in an 18-0 win over Whitinsville Christian over five innings Friday. Calvey was 3-for-4 with six RBIs at the plate. Nipmuc's Keegan Kelley doubled and homered with five RBIs.

    HARPER FRIEDHOLM, Lincoln-Sudbury girls lacrosse

    She scored six goals on six shots in a 9-5 win over New Hampshire defending Division 1 state champion Bedford on Friday. The Cornell-bound senior also added four draw controls and two ground balls for L-S (7-2).

    SEBASTIAN GRILLO, Westborough boys track & field

    He won two events at the District E Invitational on Saturday. Grillo placed first in the discus at 140 feet, seven inches and the shot put at 48-2 on his home track. Westborough's Al Regnier also took first in the girls discus (81-1).

    LYNDSEY KAY, Blackstone Valley Tech softball

    She was 3-for-4 with three extra base hits in a 9-0 win over Monty Tech on Friday. Kay launched a two-run homer, tripled and doubled for the Beavers (4-6, 3-2 Colonial). BVT's Arihana Mercado added three hits.

    ARI LEVINE, Hopedale track & field

    He was named the Field Event Athlete of the Meet at the MSTCA Jim Hoar Freshmen Sophomore Invitational on Saturday. He won the shot put at 52 feet, 9 inches and the discus throw at 150-07. Levine also took second in the javelin (144-01).

    ARAV PRAJAPATI, Holliston baseball

    He threw five innings with three strikeouts and allowed just three hits with three hawks in a 9-0 win over Dedham on Friday. Prajapati also went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run. Holliston's Sam Schoenberg was 2-for-3, driving in two RBIs with a double and a run. He stole four bases. Brogan Roche and Drew Kafka each had a hit and an RBI for the Panthers. Holliston relief pitcher Albert Savino struck out three in two hitless innings of relief.

    NICK SOUTHEY, Algonquin boys rugby

    He scored a try and converted four others in a 38-34 win over Chelmsford on Saturday. Algonquin's Liam Cunniffe scored two tries, while Ican Ramos, Preston Biamou and Logan Mutch put down one each for the Titans (3-1).

    Baseball

    MONTY TECH 3, Blackstone Valley Tech 1: Max Pilkington was 3-for-4 for the Beavers (9-2) on Friday. BVT's Jack Marino contributed an RBI single.

    SHEPHERD HILL 5, Hudson 1; SHEPHERD HILL 1, Hudson 0: Chris Aucoin threw seven innings and allowed just three hits and struck out six for the Hawks (6-7) on Friday in Game 2, where Hudson's Michael Atwater singled. Aucoin and David Rosengard dropped in two hits each in game 1.

    LINCOLN-SUDBURY 10, English High 8: Mason Tarantino (3-for-4, double , two runs), Cooper Tarantino (2-for-5, run) and Matt Mahoney (2-for-4, double run) drove in two runs each for the Warriors (9-3) on Friday. L-S' Jenson Martin earned the win in relief, allowing just one hit and no runs over 3 2/3 innings with two strikeouts. Jake Haarde was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs scored an an RBI for the Warriors.

    AUBURN 8, Hopedale 3: Sam Dalpe was 2-for-2 with two runs for the Blue Raiders (9-3) on Friday. Hopedale's Lucas Levasseur was 2-for-3 with a run.

    NIPMUC 3, Framingham 2: Joshua Giancola stuck out five in an 86-pitch, complete game win for the visiting Warriors (7-4). Nipmuc's Noah Parotta hit a two-run double, and Grady O'Neil was 2-for-3. Framingham's Jack Maude doubled among his two hits with an RBI, while Jace Coleman had an RBI double. Noah Sonnenberg allowed just three hits with two walks and two strikeouts over five innings for Framingham.

    WACHUSETT 3, Algonquin 2: The Titans (4-7, 2-3 Mid-Wach A scored on a Jackson Redfern single and Tighe Clark sacrifice fly Friday.

    LEOMINSTER 3, Westborough 1: Marco Micucci singled and doubled for Westborough (4-8, 2-3 Mid-Wach A).

    EAST BRIDGEWATER 5, Millis 1: Talon Shepardson had a hit and an RBI for Millis on Saturday. Millis' Nick Hohman had a hit, while Andrew Morse allowed just a hit in two innings of relief.

    BELLINGHAM 15, Ashland 5: Julia Simon tripled and added great defense for the Blackhawks (4-8, 2-8 TVL) on Friday.

    WAYLAND 7, Boston Latin 4: Sofia Simmons was 3-for-4 on Friday for the Warriors (3-4). She doubled in the ninth inning.

    HUDSON 6, Bay Path 3: Lauren O'Malley and Liv Connolly each singled twice and drove in two runs, and Samantha Collette (double) and Alyssa Davis each added two hits for the Hawks (8-4) on Saturday.

    WACHUSETT 12, Hudson 6: Samantha Collette drove in four runs with two hits - including a homer - for the Hawks on Friday.

    LINCOLN-SUDBURY 5, Tyngsborough 2: Junior UMass commit Kelsey Blanchette struck out 10 over seven innings, allowing six hits with a walk for the Warriors on Friday. L-S catcher Ashleigh Lent stole three bases and was 1-for-1 with an RBI, two walks and scored a run. Sophie Jorjorian walked twice and scored two runs with a hit for the Warriors.

    LEOMINSTER 9, Westborough 2: Bryce Kane struck out 10 for the Rangers (5-7, 2-4 Mid-Wach A).

    NIPMUC 3, St. Paul 1: Janelle Scirocco belted a two-run homer in the first inning, and Keegan Kelley delivered Brynn DiAnni with a sacrifice fly in the sixth for the Warriors (11-1) on Saturday. Nipmuc's Sera DeBaggis was 3 for 3 with two doubles, and Kate Julian limited St. Paul to three hits.

    SHEPHERD HILL 16, Algonquin 0 (5): Emily Ruiz singled for the Titans (4-7, 3-6 Mid-Wach B) on Saturday.

    WELLESLEY 12, Cohasset 2: Abby Brown had three RBIs on a 2-for-3 day for the Raiders. Wellesley's Mia Hasselback, Elizabeth McDonnell, and Margaret Redgate contributed two RBIs each.

    HOPKINTON 13, Holliston 2: Addy Walls punched out 16 batters and didn't allow a hit for the Hillers (8-5) on Saturday.

    Boys lacrosse

    HUDSON 5, Bay Path 4 (OT): Max Gaudette scored with 11 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, and teammate Ben Lane finished off a hat trick with the winner in the extra period for the Hawks (2-6) on Saturday.

    ALGONQUIN 11, Westborough 1: Garrett Willwerth had four goals, Ben Yosca netted a hat trick, and Jack Gulachenski scored twice for the Titans (8-3) on Saturday. Declan Mulkerin (3 assists) and Caden Henden (assist) added goals for Algonquin.

    Girls lacrosse

    WESTBOROUGH 14, Algonquin 9: Lily Villaflor punched in five goals with an assist and six draw controls for the Rangers (11-2). Westborough's Regan Kittredge added an assist and six draw controls, while Lucy Petralia scored two goals with two assists Saturday.  Grace Chiota netted five goals for the Titans (7-4).

    NANTUCKET 14, Ashland 7: Julia Schreiber scored four ties for the Clockers (10-3) on Sunday. Ashland's Maggie Magennis and Payten Tripp contributed a goal and an assist each, while Morgan Dubanowitz found the net once, and Anna Magennis and Lili Vitti distributed an assist each. Ashland goalie Alannah Duffy made seven saves.

    Boys volleyball

    WAYLAND 3, Newton South 0: Joe Kelly put down 20 kills with 10 digs in a 25-18, 25-19, 25-22 victory for the Warriors (8-4) on Friday. Wayland setter Joey Burke distributed 34 assists with 12 digs, while Dylan Engelhardt added 12 digs, nine kills and four blocks.

    LINCOLN-SUDBURY 3, Westford Academy 0: Sebastiano D'Ambrosio served for five points in a row and helped the Warriors (6-4) open the first set with a 10-3 lead. L-S won 25-19, 25-23, 25-22.

    BELLINGHAM 3, King Philip 0: Aidan Gibs distributed 26 assists with five digs for the Blackhawks (5-5). Bellingham's Zach Mantegani collected a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs in a 25-22, 25-22, 25-21 win, while Wagner Lorenco added six kills.

    KEEFE TECH 3, Algonquin 0 : C.J. Sok collected four digs, seven kills and four blocks, and Logan Greenlaw added nine kills and two blocks for the Broncos (12-1) on Friday in a 25-18, 25-14 25-22 win.

    Girls tennis

    LONGMEADOW 3, Westborough 2: Isabel Feldman earned a 7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-3 win over Bailey Downes for the Raiders at No. 3 singles Friday, while Westborough's No. 1 doubles team of Elena Chen and Sahsra Komineni bested Lia Manoussof and grace Taylor 6-3, 6-3. All three singles matches went to the third set.

    ALGONQUIN 3, Quaboag 1: The Titans' no. 1 doubles team of Claire Wallace and Becca White helped secure the win with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Norah Schwender and Aurora powers. Sophia Kapstein and Riya Mahanta bested Isabelle Burgess and Isabelle Pulucci 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles for Algonquin. At no. 3 singles, Algonquin's Siya Arde swept Nora Pennington-Russell 6-0, 6-0.

    HUDSON 4, Clinton 1: The Hawks flexed their depth Friday. At No. 1 doubles, Lauren Shurling and Gracie Garcia gutted out a 7-5, 7-5 win over Sarah Santos and Ella Askren. Hudson No. 2 singles player Sophie Charbonneau battled to a 6-3, 6-4 win over Gaby Audon, while Vivian Weatherbee prevailed 6-2, 6-1 over Rishantley Schotborg for the hawks (8-3). Hudson's no. 2 doubles team of Taylor Coyne and Sophia Bater beat Sharon Cardenas and Danielle Champagne 6-1, 6-1.
