    Milford contractor arrested after taking $100K from client in Orange

    ORANGE, Conn. (WTNH) – A Milford contractor was arrested after he allegedly took $100,000 from a client in Orange and did not fulfill his contract.

    According to police, 53-year-old Scott Furtado was arrested and charged with four counts of larceny. Furtado is the owner of Custom Stiles Woodworking, LLC and was hired by an Orange resident to complete a project in their kitchen.

    Man seriously injured hit-and-run in West Haven

    After he was paid $100,000 to do the job, Furtado did not do any work on the project for over a year. During the police investigation, it was found that he did not fulfill his contract for the project and he was unable to refund the money he was paid.

    He posted a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 8.
