The Thorndale Lady Dogs softball team traveled to take on the Weimar Lady Cats in the Regional Semifinals. The Lady Dogs were swept by Weimar in the series 2-0 to bring their incredible season to an end. Game 1 took place on Wednesday, May 15, at Brenham High School. Thorndale was shut out by the Lady Cats 1-0 in a game that was a pure pitchers duel. Bulldogs headed for Regional Semifinals
The Thorndale Bulldogs baseball team traveled to Mumford High School last week to take on the Iola Bulldogs in the Regional Quarterfinals and they were victorious. Next up for the Bulldogs will be a series against the Ganado Indians in the Regional Semifinals. MCT issues audition call for “The Fantasticks”
Milam Community Theater will hold auditions for “The Fantasticks,” 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at the Williams Event Center in Cameron. The Fantasticks is a funny and romantic musical about a boy, a girl, and their two fathers who try to keep them apart. The narrator, El Gallo, asks the audience to use their imagination and follow him into a world of moonlight and magic. The boy and the girl fall in love, grow a part and finally find their way back to each other after realizing the truth in El Gallo’s words that, “without a hurt, the heart is hollow.”

Yoe High School has announced its Top 10 percent graduates for 2024. They are (from left) Joshua Jochec, ranked 8th; Seally Smith, ranked 6th; Peyton Polson, ranked 4th; Salutatorian Brinley Patterson; Valedictorian Camryn Green; Adam Rios, ranked 3rd; Macie Vaculin, ranked 5th; Yovanni Cerros, ranked 7th; and Reagan Polson, ranked 9th. Moulton softball: Slocum ends Kittens’ historical softball run
The historical run of the Kittens softball team came to end Saturday in the regional-final series against Slocum in Mumford. The Kittens had little offense in game one, falling 15-1 before getting a little more in the second game but still coming up short 11-4. Moulton finishes with a 14-11 record.
