The Wednesday Study Club met on May 8, at the D Brown Library with 16 members and guests present. Pat Runcie called the meeting to order and flag pledges were recited along with A Collect for Club Women written by Mary Stewart. Runcie recognized guests Mary Pratt and Tami Polk. Roads started flooding in Brazos and Robertson Counties around 3:30 p.m. with calls for water rescues and crashes following not long after. ROBERSTON COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - – Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on state Highway 6 and Sadberry Road. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at approximately 9:24 a.m., a 2021 GMC Sierra towing a trailer was traveling northbound. A 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe attempted to turn southbound, failed to yield the right of way – private drive, and was struck by the GMC.
