This Utah All-You-Can-Eat Buffet Was Voted The Best In Salt Lake City

Live lobsters and stone crabs fly in from Canada three times a week for one all-you-can-eat buffet in Utah. The bluefin tuna comes from Spain, and the A5 Wagyu ships weekly from Japan. I can’t imagine many buffet lines with that kind of passport. The spread runs past 150 items,...

This Utah Pizzeria Is So Good, Dave Portnoy Called It “By Far The Best Pizza In Salt Lake City”

About 100 pizzas. That’s roughly all that gets made during each online drop, and the pickup slots can disappear in minutes. Pizza lovers set reminders and hover over their phones just to land one pie. I love that dinner here feels a little like scoring concert tickets. Pizza fans...

Farm-to-table restaurant Communal coming to Salt Lake City

Communal, a farm-to-table restaurant and Provo staple, is expanding to Salt Lake City. Driving the news: Owners Kevin and Tessa Santiago revealed plans for the new restaurant in a recent social media post . The restaurant will be at the Twenty Ones Apartments complex in Sugar House. Dig in: The Provo menu includes funeral potato croquettes, gumbo-style chicken, wagyu picanha frites and more. Catch up quick: Communal opened in downtown Provo in 2009 to wide acclaim for its use of fresh ingredients and family-style seating. The original owners, chefs Joseph McRae and Colton Soelberg, sold the business to the Santiagos in 2019. 💭 My thought bubble: I visited Communal for the first time last year and immediately kicked myself for not going sooner. What we're watching: An opening date is expected to be announced soon.

Two pumps each of green apple syrup and caramel syrup. Top the rest with Mountain Dew. You can add whipped cream and drizzle caramel over.

Casa Del Tamal operator puts focus on family, tamales; US official visits Mexican restaurant

SALT LAKE CITY — For Cristina Olvera, the matriarch of two La Casa Del Tamal restaurant locations in Salt Lake County, it's all about family and tamales. For around 20 years, the immigrant from Mexico hustled around the Salt Lake City area, delivering homemade tamales and building a loyal customer base, even as she maintained day jobs to ensure a steady income. Along the way, her five kids have played a central role.

13 Salt Lake City, Utah Restaurants Locals Swear By For A Cheap And Delicious Meal

One taco counter in this city keeps its doors open until 5 AM, seven days a week. That one detail alone made me sit straight up in my chair. Then the list got even better, and hungrier. There’s a German deli selling bratwurst plates with spätzle and red cabbage.

10 Utah Meat Markets Where Folks Stock Their Freezers Cheaper Than Any Supermarket

One ranch selling its own dry-aged USDA Prime beef has been raising cattle since 1873. That’s older than the light bulb in most homes. And you can buy from it straight off a historic Main Street counter. That detail hooked me fast. Across Utah, small butcher shops still cut...

This Hidden Gem in Utah Serves Irresistible Peach Shakes and Farm-Fresh Goodies

A peach milkshake made with peaches from the farm itself. That one detail grabbed my attention before anything else did. The shakes are only part of the story, though. Cherries kick off early summer here, and then pickling cucumbers, tomatoes, melons, and sweet corn take their turns. Utah has a...

This Utah Diner Serves Homemade Scones So Good People Drive Miles Just To Try Them

Salt Lake City Restaurants Are Designing for the Camera

Before patrons take the first bite at many of Salt Lake’s most popular restaurants, there’s often a photograph. A plate arrives at the table carefully composed and placed beneath lighting that seems almost too perfect to be accidental. Around the room, phones emerge for a quick snap, a short video, a post — and the restaurant has gained an audience far beyond the people sitting inside it.

Review: Big South brings proper soul food to SLC

A new Sugar House eatery is serving up a cuisine that manifests comfort and familiarity — despite its rarity in Utah. Driving the news: You must — I repeat, must — pick up dinner at Big South soul food for a taste of home that transcends geography. The vibe: The brick-and-mortar location at 900 East and 2100 South has a shifting menu of treats from Big South's popular food truck, like oxtail, meat loaf, catfish, collard greens, cornbread and yams. There's a bit of seating, but most customers were ordering takeout when I visited. Best bites: Every single dish my family tried was fantastic, but we each had a different favorite. Mine was the (perfect) catfish, my husband loved the BBQ ribs, and my kid singled out the yams. 💭 My thought bubble: It's like all of my memories from Thanksgiving, Sunday dinners and the Fourth of July fused into a bite.
