Week 10 Savannah area high school football scores
Week 10 of the high school football season in the Greater Savannah area is here as wins are at a premium for teams fighting to make the playoffs. This season, the GHSA has implemented a Playoff Ranking System that will rank teams in each classification with No. 1 through No. 32 qualifying for the playoffs. Region standings won't be used to determine playoff seeds as a formula that factors in a team's winning percentage and opponent's winning percentage has been put in place. With the regular season winding down, teams know that wins matter more than ever if they want to reach the postseason. Richmond Hill (5-3) is set to host Lowndes (7-0), the No. 5 ranked team in Class 7A by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, in a Region 1-7A matchup. In other games with local teams hosting, Benedictine takes on Wayne County and Groves will host Richmond Academy. Windsor Forest plays Harlem at Islands Stadium and Savannah High will host Calvary Day, with New Hampstead hosting Long County at Pooler Stadium. This is the spot to follow along for live updates of all the action involving Savannah area team on Friday, Oct. 23. Here is the link for the

Windsor Forest football gets win over Harlem with trick play in OT
In his first year as the Windsor Forest football coach, Willie "Mack" Martin is on a mission to build a winning culture within the Knight program. His team got its biggest win yet with a 29-28 overtime victory over visiting Harlem on Friday, Oct. 23. After Harlem junior Keaton Tillery started overtime with a rugged 15-yard touchdown run up the gut as the Bulldogs took a 28-21 lead, the pressure was on the Knight offense ― led by Martin's son, junior quarterback Jayden Martin. After a 6-yard loss on the first Knight overtime play, Martin dropped back and found Dwane Franklin across the middle for a 21-yard touchdown that brought Windsor Forest within a point. It was decision time for Mack Martin and the coach didn't hesitate to make the call to go for two and the win at Islands Stadium. The call was the "Reverse Special" and Jayden Martin handed the ball to Telly Riley who ran left before lateralling it back to Kamari Duncan as the senior rolled to his right and lofted a pass to Martin, who made an adjustment and spun around to his left to make the game-winning grab as the Knight sideline erupted.
