Alabama police notice 'foul odor' before finding man dead under his own home
DOTHAN, Ala. (TCD) -- A couple stands accused of killing a 54-year-old man this month and leaving his body underneath his own home. According to the Dothan Police Department, on May 8, officers responded to a residence on Coe Dairy Road to perform a welfare check on Patrick Parrish after an "unusual amount of time passed" with no contact from the man. Upon their arrival, police "noticed a foul odor" coming from the home.

Longtime church destroyed in fire over the weekend in east Alabama
PITTSVIEW, Ala. (WRBL) — A church in Russell County caught fire following severe weather last Friday. According to the Pittsview Fire Department, the call came in at 5 a.m. Friday regarding a fire at Mount Olive Baptist Church, which had been burning for about an hour. After arriving on the scene, the Pittsview Fire Department tended to the fire for several hours, with some ladder truck assistance from Fort Mitchell.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - While there will be rain and some PM storms around Tuesday, dry weather remains in the forecast mid-week ahead of another late week storm system. Cloudy to start Tuesday with rain around. Morning rain will slowly push north and east, tapering down from southwest to northeast as the morning progresses. Some peeks of sun are in the forecast around midday Tuesday. The afternoon should be mostly dry. Highs in the upper 70s, maybe 80 degrees near Eufaula. Scattered pop up storms are anticipated starting late afternoon and early in the evening as the air starts to rise (warm) again. An isolated severe storm (producing wind and hail) is possible.
