Sign Up for Lottery to be on Waitlist for Housing Choice Voucher Specialized Program
Provided by Prince William County Communications Office. The Prince William County Office of Housing and Community Development, or OHCD, will open the online application for the Housing Choice Voucher Program Lottery for the Mainstream Specialized Program on Tuesday, May 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. During this time, county residents can submit an application for an opportunity to be chosen as part of the lottery process. Those who apply and meet the special population qualifications are placed in a lottery pool, and if selected, will be placed on the Mainstream Specialized Program waitlist, if eligible.
More Than 100 PWCS Students Qualify For All-Virginia Band, Choir, and Orchestra
The Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA), along with the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association (VBODA), Virginia Choral Directors Association (VCDA), Virginia Elementary Music Educators Association (VEMEA), and Virginia chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association (VA-ACDA), recently hosted the All-Virginia Band, Orchestra and Choir events in Richmond and Harrisonburg. More than 100 students from Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) qualified for these ensembles: 53 high school students for the 2024 All-Virginia Band, Chorus, and Orchestra; 49 middle school students for the 2024 All-Virginia Middle School Honor Choir; and 16 elementary school students for the 2024 All-Virginia Elementary Chorus.
Seniors Celebrate Older Americans Month
Provided by Prince William County Communications Office. A substantial crowd of Woodbridge and Manassas senior center members recently gathered for the annual Older Americans Month celebration. The Area Agency on Aging sponsors this event to honor those 55 and older in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park. Although the two senior centers in Manassas and Woodbridge offer activities all year round, the Older Americans Month event stands out as a special occasion.
