Her biggest adventure yet: Jackson County native prepares to row across Pacific Ocean
JACKSON COUNTY, MI – Cassidy Hurd has never wanted to be defined by what others thought of her. As a student athlete at Napoleon High School years ago, she said she was told she’d never leave her hometown and that her skills on the volleyball court weren’t up to par. It wasn’t easy, she said, but she took several leaps of faith to prove them wrong, including playing college volleyball and moving to Hawaii.
