How and where to watch the eclipse in Miami

Miami isn't in the path of totality for Monday's eclipse, but you can still catch a glimpse of the big show.

Why it matters: The next eclipse in North America won't be for another two decades. So even though only part of the sun will be obscured here, it's worth your time.

• It begins at 1:47pm and reaches peak coverage at 3:01pm.
• Show's over at 4:13pm.

Where to watch with a crowd:

• Frost Science has a day of programming . Tickets start at $37.95 for nonmembers and $26.95 for kids ages 4 to 11.
• Miami-Dade Public Library North Central Branch is giving out eclipse glasses until supplies last and has kid crafting activities.
• Zey Zey is doing a guided meditation and cacao ceremony, plus sound healing and live music. Tickets start at $33.
