This Mesa restaurant has some of the Valley's best burritos

If you blink, you will miss Adrian's Mexican Food in Mesa.

  • I did many times before I was encouraged to try it — and discovered one of my top three burritos of all time.

The big picture: Adrian's is on Main Street, surrounded by an RV park about a mile west of downtown.

  • Most of the building is dedicated to the kitchen, and because there's only about a half-dozen small tables inside, most people (including me) order carryout.

Zoom in: The menu includes an assortment of classic Mexican dishes including tostadas, enchiladas and chimichangas — but I haven't been able to move past the burritos since my first flavorful bite.

  • Adrian's makes their own tortillas. They're buttery and soft but still firm enough to hold a heap of filling.
  • I've tried the classic bean and cheese and several breakfast burritos. They've always been perfectly seasoned and plentiful.

What I'm eyeing: When I last stopped in to pick up breakfast burritos, several diners were chowing down on chilaquiles and eggs rancheros, and they looked delicious enough for me to consider temporarily suspending my burrito allegiance to give them a try.
