Astronaut High athletic director Cheryl Shivel has announced she will retire at the end of the school year. Athletic director since 2011, she was previously assistant A.D. and a math teacher. She was the first woman to serve as A.D. for the War Eagles and is currently one of just two women in the role in Brevard County. The Titusville High graduate served two terms on the FHSAA Section 2 Appeals Committee and is the secretary for the Cape Coast Conference.
