The hamlet of Silver Bay in Warren County ranked No. 36 on the list. The typical value for a home there is now more than $1.2 million, up more than $125,000 in the last year and up more than $493,000 over the last five years.

A $150 Million Rent-Stabilization Fight Just Got a New Player: REBNY. The State Wants Them Both Kept Quiet

New York Attorney General Letitia James is trying to keep both a whistleblower and the city's most powerful real estate trade group out of the court record in her office's fight against Peak Capital Advisors, according to The Real Deal's reporting. The underlying case, filed by James's office and the state Division of Homes and Community Renewal in December 2025, accuses Peak of illegally deregulating 159 rent-stabilized apartments across 31 buildings in Brooklyn and Queens by misusing a decades-old program known as substantial rehabilitation, which lets landlords remove buildings from rent stabilization after full-system renovations. Peak, run by David Gomez and Alex Rabin, says it's facing a $150 million loss if the state's position holds.

Governor Hochul Announces Effort To Advance Energy-Efficient Housing In New York

Governor Hochul today announced a program to deliver more affordable, high-performance and healthier, energy-efficient housing for New Yorkers. The newly launched New Efficient Homes New York program, administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), is a suite of offerings intended to strengthen New York’s support for the full life cycle of residential new construction projects by helping owners, developers, and design teams incorporate energy-efficient design and offset the cost of construction. The program includes support for new heat pumps and other enhanced design support and is part of Governor Hochul's "Let Them Build" agenda.
