Mendon won the second game despite Colon scoring three times in the sixth inning. The Hornets registered five hits. Kindig had two while Zak Iobe had one with two RBIs. Bingaman and Haigh each had one as well.

Crites struck out seven in three innings. Kindig and Bingaman each struck out two as well.

Ayden Delp drove in two runs for Colon. Maverick Downs and Gabe Terry each had a hit as well.

    Sturgis splits with Otsego

The Sturgis baseball team split a double header with Otsego on Tuesday.

The Trojans won 3-0 in the second game. Gibson Cary led them to the win with 10 strikeouts on the mound. He allowed just two hits. At the plate, Sturgis scored twice in the second inning and once in the third. Sturgis' two runs in the first were off an error.

"I'm pleased that we were able to take the momentum from the end of Game 1 into Game 2," Sturgis coach Drew Rutenbar said. "Gibby has been lights out on the mound and unfortunately still had not picked up his first win on the mound, so it was good for him to pick up that first one tonight."

Taner Patrick finished with both Sturgis hits in the game.

In the opener, Sturgis scored twice in the sixth to bring the game to 4-2.

Camden Duffy pitched 4 2/3 innings with four strikeouts, Kasey Shank pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed just one hit.

"Duffy had another nice outing on the mound. Again we struggled to give the defensive support to help get a win," Rutenbar said. "It was nice to battle back, but it was too little too late."

Sturgis had four hits in the game. Cary hit a double while Patrick and Gavin Lewis both had a single. Logan Markey drove in one with a base hit.

    Constantine beats Lawton twice

The Constantine baseball team beat Lawton 9-3 and 18-2 on Tuesday.

The first game saw the Falcons get three hits each from Brody Godfrey, Alex Brossman and Gaven Lewis. They combined to drive in five. Caleb Bontrager had an RBI hit, both Cole Walker and Jack Larink added a hit.

Picking up the win was Lewis, he struck out four.

Constantine clubbed 17 hits in the second game. Cooper Juday had four, Godfrey had three. They both knocked in four runs in the game. Logan Kee had three hits and two RBIs while Jarink knocked in two with a couple of hits. Borssman and Lewis both had run-scoring hits.

    Burr Oak drops two

The Burr Oak baseball team lost a pair of 15-0 decisions to Climax-Scotts on Tuesday night.

"Tonight we played better than we have and knocked some of the walks down. We still have a ways to go but we definitely are making the right strides in getting better," Burr Oak coach Dave Brackett said. "Climax was a very tough team and i thought the boys did a great job at competing with them and making good baseball plays tonight."

Austin Cole registered a single for the Bobcats.
