Mexican restaurant holds ribbon cutting in Rensselaer
Al Punto Picante, located at 1204 Washington Avenue in Rensselaer, opened about two months ago but had its ribbon cutting with the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce on Thursday. The restaurant is owned by Jenny Berrio and her partner Francisco.

Albany Police investigating shooting
Albany Police are investigating a shooting on Saturday. Officers received a report of shots fired in the area of Myrtle Avenue and New Scotland Avenue at around 6:30 p.m. When police arrived, they received a call from Albany Medical Center staff that the 24-year-old victim walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
