    Teen arrested, charged with 42 counts of auto burglary

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two teenagers are now in jail after being caught in a stolen vehicle in Raleigh on Wednesday.

    A 17-year-old male is charged with theft of property $10,000-$60,000 auto theft, 42 counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, evading arrest on foot, seven counts of theft of property $1,000 or less, two counts of attempted burglary of a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools, theft of property $2,500 – $10,000, two counts of theft of property under $2,500 with a firearm, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

    A 15-year-old male is charged with theft of property $10,000-$60,000 auto theft, evading arrest on foot, and intentionally evading arrest in an auto.

    Investigators say the teens have also been linked to several other auto theft cases.

    According to reports, a black Kia Forte was seen near New Allen and Scenic Highway in Raleigh on Wednesday. The Kia Forte was reported stolen just days before.

    Members of the Memphis Police Department Organized Crime Unit Auto Theft Task Force, Appling Farm Task Force, and Bartlett Task Force took the two male teens in the stolen car into custody.
