Sunshine and very warm temperatures across Mid-South
23 days ago
We have put the rain and storms behind us this weekend. Lots of heavy rain and loud thunder along with flashes of lightning moved through the region and through Memphis early this morning. A few scattered storms remained throughout the day for parts of North Mississippi and West Tennessee. The sunshine has returned and now we will be turning the heat up! For the first time this year we could hit 90 degrees. The next few days will see minimal cloud cover and a light breeze. After some isolated patchy fog during the morning on Sunday highs will approach 90 degrees for Sunday afternoon, but likely hang in the upper 80s.The best chances to hit or surpass 90 degrees will be Monday and Tuesday. A very hot start to the week. The humidity will return as well. By Wednesday a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening return. This will give way to some periods of heavy rain for our region. Some locations could see a few inches of rain. The severe weather threat remains low as of now.
