Second Street Tacos & Tequila: An Extension of Happy Mexican Set to Open Soon

In late 2023, What Now Memphis reported that the Happy Mexican situated at 385 S 2nd St in Memphis would soon transform into a lively taco cantina, featuring a new name and updated menu offerings. The restaurant was slated to open its doors by the end of November 2023, but the renovations took longer than anticipated.

At the time of the initial report, the establishment had not yet finalized its new name. However, it appears that owner Rafael Ramirez has settled on “ Second Street Tacos & Tequila .”

Although What Now Memphis was originally told that this new concept would replace Happy Mexican, it now appears that Happy Mexican will continue to operate as usual. Meanwhile, Second Street Tacos & Tequila will serve as an exciting extension of the well-loved eatery.

Now complete, the updates include a brand-new patio and fence, and a recent Facebook post from the restaurant hints that the new eatery will be “opening soon.” As for the revamped menu, details remain under wraps for now.
