ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man and a woman were arrested after deputies said they found drugs and a stolen gun inside a home in Orleans County.

The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were sent to the home on West Shelby Road to serve a warrant to 38-year-old Jacoun J. Harden. The warrant was for a violation of probation for a weapon charge.

Investigators said 30-year-old Maranda Button let deputies inside where they found a loaded pistol and drug paraphernalia on the ground. The gun was reported stolen to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office in February 2024.

It was alleged that Harden was in the home and ran upstairs to hide and refused to come out. Deputies said they arrested him after a brief stand-out.

Harden and Button were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property — firearm. More charges may come as the investigation continues.
