American Airlines flight makes sudden landing at PHL after potential mechanical issue
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An American Airlines flight that departed Philadelphia on Saturday morning had to return before it could complete its trip, a spokesperson for the Philadelphia International Airport said.The flight, American Airlines 4372, landed out of caution after a "potential mechanical issue" was detected, a spokesperson for American Airlines said, adding that no emergency was declared on the plane. The flight returned about an hour after departing.The spokesperson did not say what the potential issue was.No injuries were reported. Passengers deplaned and waited in the terminal until they could board a new plane.Maps from FlightAware, a flight tracking website, show the flight departed at 11:02 a.m. bound for Memphis, Tennessee, later turned around over Maryland and landed back at PHL.
Camden County man arrested, accused of committing multiple vehicle arsons at same home
A Camden County man is in custody after allegedly committing a string of vehicle arsons all targeting the same home, according to police. The man from Haddon Township, New Jersey, was arrested and charged in connection to an arson in Haddonfield and a stalking-related vandalism in Medford Township, authorities say.

A 2018 law that hit some school districts with unexpected funding cuts has put Gov. Phil Murphy and Trenton Democrats in a bind for the past several years. The result is a new law, signed by Murphy this week, that permits those 147 districts to lift, for a one-year period, New Jersey’s 2% property tax cap for school tax levies. It also sets aside $44.7 million in additional “stabilization” aid grants for these districts. Murphy signed another law permitting some school districts facing cuts in state aid to submit budgets within five days of the fiscal year 2025 appropriations act − giving them a grace period to finalize budgets.
