Rain Returns Today, Sunny Skies to End the Week
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Today will be the coolest day of the week with high temperatures falling to a more seasonable level as rain returns to the area. Cloud cover will build in despite a mild start to the morning with scattered showers moving into the area this afternoon. Most rain chances will remain light and scattered throughout the day today, highs will only be in the low to mid-70s. High pressure builds in for the rest of the workweek, leading to sunny skies and mild temperatures. Highs will be in the upper 80s for Thursday and Friday, and this will be one of the warmest starts to May on record. This is just one year after we saw the coldest start to May last year. A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 am with low visibilities expected across the area, mainly in valley regions. Give yourself extra time on your morning commute this morning until fog clears. Throughout the rest of the day, conditions will improve, sunny skies return and temperatures will be back into the 80s. We continue to warm up throughout the rest of the week with the potential to break high temperature records across the region both tomorrow and Friday. Fairmont’s iconic ‘Lava House’ for sale
FAIRMONT, W.Va (WDTV) - After some renovations, the iconic ‘Lava House’ is in search of a new owner. Located on Fairmont Ave, the four-bedroom, six-bath, 4,400-square-foot property brings a unique style to Fairmont. The house was built in 1968 by West Virginia’s first female developer, Carol McWilliams. Since then, there have been two more owners who have emphasized Egyptian and Japanese styles with a flare of Frank Lloyd Wright. Realtor Alethea Wise, who purchased the property last year and lived at the lava house for months as renovations continued, says the next owner is hitting the jackpot.

Bridgeport Police Respond to Motorcycle Accident on Route that Results in One Transported to Hospital
According to WBOY, a two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle shut down the westbound lanes of U.S. Route 50 Friday night and sent one person to the hospital. According to an official with the Harrison County 911 Center, at around 9:03 p.m., crews were alerted to a vehicle accident with injuries on U.S. Route 50 near the 2nd Street exit in Clarksburg.
