Chris' Famous Hotdogs is 'same as it always was' under new owners
It's a Tuesday afternoon, and a man in a sharp gray suit and a red, patterned tie heaves open the door to 138 Dexter Ave. in downtown Montgomery . He slides against the wall behind the blue barstools, a string of “sorry” and “excuse me” falling from his mouth after waving to the waitress at the grill. He finds what he’s looking for past the glass block wall — a booth towards the back, where a girl in a baseball cap and casual boyfriend jeans sits. She’s saved him a hot dog, and wherever he came from before lunch is forgotten as they laugh and eat. The table is unique in its flavor of mundane, and so is every other table. Big Daddy Russ Lane fully grows into his nickname
Scottsboro, Ala. – Through the course of the 2025 Bassmaster Opens and Elite Qualifiers, Alabama pro Russ Lane looked like an adult chaperone leading a school field trip.
