    Girls soccer: Lakeside shut out by Mayville, River Valley

    MAYVILLE — Emily Batterman scored the game-winning goal unassisted in the 64th minute as Mayville edged visiting Lakeside Lutheran 1-0 in nonconference girls soccer on Friday, May 3.

    Lakeside (4-6-2) had a 9-5 edge in shots on goal and Warriors keeper Elaina Bagdassian stopped four shots.

    Lakeside hosts Cambridge/Deerfield on Tuesday.

    THURSDAY’S RESULTRiver Valley scored three unanswered goals in the second half en route to a 3-0 win over Lakeside at LLHS in nonconference play on Thursday, May 2.

    Grace Morrey converted the go-ahead goal in the 48th minute before Karina Osborn added unassisted scores in the 56th and 71st minutes.

    Elaina Bagdassian stopped five shots for the Warriors.

    TUESDAY’S RESULTReagan Jobke scored two of Lakeside Lutheran’s four first-half goals in a 4-0 home Capitol Conference win over Columbus on Tuesday, April 30.

    Jobke scored in the second minute on Kylie Lundgren’s assist, adding a goal in the 19th minute assisted by Ella Ristow.

    Abigail Wood scored in the 29th minute and Ristow capped the scoring in the 38th minute. Lundgren was credited with an assist on both goals for the Warriors (4-4-2, 2-1-1 in conference).

    Lakeside keeper Maria Vik stopped two shots in her clean sheet.

    “Our girls took the game plan to heart, and put it into practice without much delay,” Lakeside girls soccer coach Hannah Uher said. “After emphasizing corner kicks in practice, we finished three of them tonight.

    “Sophomore Kylie Lundgren helped create numerous attacks tonight, while freshman Reagan Jobke scored a brace. We are so proud of the growth of this team so far this season.”
