MAYNARD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Maynard man has claimed his winning Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Mass Cash”  $100,000 prize, nearly two weeks before it expired.

Six winners selected for Jaws-inspired trip to Martha’s Vineyard

Michael Curtin, a retired Postal Service worker from Maynard, is the winner in the May 2, 2023 drawing. He claimed the winning ticket on April 19th, which was set to expire a year from the drawing.

Michael plans to use some of his winning to upgrade his car. He bought his ticket at Honey Land located at 220 Summer St. in Fitchburg. The store will receive a $1,000 bonus for the sale.

Mass Cash drawings are also conducted seven nights a week. The cost of each play is $1. To play, you must pick five out of 35 numbers or choose Quic Pic, which randomly picks the five numbers for you. Tickets that match all five winning numbers selected in the drawing win the game’s top prize.

Winners only have one year to claim the lottery prizes, expired lottery prizes become part of the net profit distributed to all Massachusetts cities and towns.
