(Area) John Lorenzen, Fisheries Biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, forecasts an epic catfishing season ahead. Lorenzen said catfish are cavity nesters. Lorenzen said right now it’s best to use cut bait and fish in the shallow areas close to the banks. He said as the summer progresses and the water temperatures increase, commercial stink baits and dip baits start working better.
