Softball Game Preview: Minisink Valley Heads Out
Minisink Valley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Middletown Middie Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Minisink Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

St. Joseph by-the-Sea clicked in all facets of the game in a 30-14 takedown of St. Joseph Hill Monday in Huguenot to advance to yet another CHSAA championship game. The defending champion Vikings, whose speed and skill was too much for the upstart Hilltoppers who came from behind in dramatic fashion to defeat Maria Regina 22-18 in the quarterfinals last week, will meet Moore Catholic (a 31-20 victor over Xaverian) in the title game Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Graniteville.

The St. Joseph Hill flag football team is channeling its own version of the cardiac kids. The Hilltoppers, who have had several come-from-behind wins and close calls during the regular season rallied for 16 unanswered points after halftime to defeat Maria Regina, 22-18, in the first round of the CHSAA playoffs on Friday.

Logan Sakir scored nine goals and had two assists to lead Hawthorne to an 11-2 win over High Point in Wantage. The nine goal performance was a career-high for Sakir, a senior. His previous career-high was six goals in a game last season.
