'He didn't care about the consequences.’ Man pleads guilty to East Massapequa crash that killed 4

Michael DeAngelo pleaded guilty in an East Massapequa crash that killed four members of the same family.

He pleaded guilty to nine charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide, four counts of manslaughter and driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of drugs.

Patrice Huntley, Jeremiah Huntley, Hannah Huntley and Chantel Solomon were killed in the crash.

“This has impacted my life forever," said Tasheba Hamilton, who lost two children in the crash.

Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly said DeAngelo “rocketed” his car to 120 mph moments before the crash.

Prosecutors said he struck the victims at approximately 95 mph.

“He didn’t care about the consequences. He didn’t think about the lives he could and did ruin. He didn’t even hit the brakes until a half-second before impact," said Donnelly.

DeAngelo’s attorney Karl Seman told reporters that his client has taken full responsibility and that he “wants the family to know this was never an intentional act.”

DeAngelo is expected to be sentenced to seven to 21 years behind bars on June 28.

Donnelly said the defendant “tore this family apart.”
