Circle C is Back!
After initial reports that the Circle C Day celebration in Cody, NE would be on hold, a group of concerned area citizens got together to organize the 61st annual event slated for Saturday, May 25th. Many of the standard events are scheduled, including the Parade, Sand Volleyball, Rodeo, Cornhole, Little Mr. and Miss Circle C and of course the smoked brisket BBQ in the park followed by the street dance.

Cody and Kilgore Fire Departments Requested to Assist Forest Service With Prescribed Burn
On Sunday, April 21, The US Forest Service carried out a prescribed burn south of Nenzel in the McKelvie National Forest land. However, the winds started blowing slightly higher and humidity slightly lower than what was anticipated. When the burn began to surpass the designated fire lines, the USFS officials sent a mutual aid request to Cody and Kilgore Fire Departments to help keep the fire contained. According to Kilgore fire chief Todd Rothleutner, very little area burned beyond the prescribed perimeter, but the trucks from Kilgore and Cody did remain on scene for quite some time as a precaution.
