Richmond County man accused of ‘inappropriate contact’ with minor

MARSTON — A man is accused of having inappropriate relations with a child.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Mark Anthony Hutchinson, of Marston, has been charged following an investigation into allegations he had “had inappropriate contact” with a child 12 years old or younger.

Hutchinson was arrested April 26 and is charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.

He was booked into the Richmond County Jail without bond, however he did not appear in online jail records on May 3. He is scheduled to appear in court May 9.

Hutchinson has no other pending charges or prior convictions in North Carolina, according to online state records.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
