Stowe Country Club, ranked by Golfweek’s Best as the No. 1 public-access course in Vermont, is slated to undergo a two-year renovation by golf architect Beau Welling. Bradford man arrested on domestic assault, unlawful restraint charges
BRADFORD — A local man was arrested Thursday on accusations of first-degree aggravated domestic assault and unlawful restraint, according to Vermont State Police. Troopers responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a Bradford residence at 11:49 a.m. where they discovered that 22-year-old Andre Town allegedly assaulted a 26-year-old household member, inflicting pain.
Police ID victim in St. Johnsbury shooting
ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (WCAX) - Police on Wednesday released the name of the man who they say died in a drug-related shooting at a St. Johnsbury apartment Monday night. The Vermont State Police say Matthew Lomasney, 47, of St. Johnsbury, died of gunshot wounds to the torso. They say Lomasney went to an upstairs apartment around 11 p,m, wearing a mask, and forced his way in. Police say someone inside the apartment shot him and that Lomasney then retreated, falling down the stairs.
