Four people injured in crash with van, truck on Mass. Pike in Southborough
Four people were injured in a crash involving a van and a pickup truck on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Southborough late Friday, according to authorities. First responders responded to the serious collision at the 109.3 mile marker on the westbound side of the Mass. Pike shortly before 7 p.m. Two people were trapped inside the van and had to be extricated from the vehicle with hydraulic rescue tools, the Southborough Fire Department said in a Facebook post.
Worcester man killed in Oxford crash; Car struck tree, caught on fire
A Worcester man was killed in a car crash in which the vehicle he was driving struck a tree and caught on fire in Oxford late Friday, according to authorities. The man, who has since been identified as Shawn Marengo, 31, of Worcester, was driving a 1998 Jeep Wrangler sport utility vehicle on Interstate 395 in Oxford near Exit 4 around 10 p.m. Friday when the car left the roadway, struck a tree and caught on fire, Massachusetts State Police said in a statement.
Three Men Arrested in Shrewsbury for Gun, Drug Charges
SHEWSBURY – A vehicle stop by a police officer in Shrewsbury led to the arrest of three men for drug and gun charges. The officer stopped a 2013 GMC Yukon with three men inside on Route 9 at around 9:30 PM on Tuesday. According to the Shrewsbury Police Department, an officer saw a bad of cocaine and a firearm magazine at the feet of the rear passenger during the stop.
