Officials: Some Marlboro schools, Trenton Board of Ed receive bomb threat 2nd day in a row

K-8 students at Marlboro Township Public Schools returned to classes today following a two-hour delayed opening due to another noncredible bomb threat, according to school officials and Marlboro Mayor Jonathan Hornik.

Hornik says the threat was received around 6 a.m., similar to Thursday's bomb threat, and that it was made via email. He said law enforcement officials searched the targeted schools. Hornik also said there is no reason for families to be concerned about sending their kids to school.

On Thursday, police said threats were sent via email to the school district and the mayor's office. The email said there were explosives placed in the board of education building and at Memorial Middle School. Police searched and described Thursday’s threat now as "not credible."

Trenton Board of Education Central Office bomb threat:

The Trenton Board of Education Central Office was evacuated this morning due to a noncredible bomb threat, according to the Trenton Public School District. Trenton police conducted a sweep with bomb-detection dogs and have since cleared the building safe for reentry. Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora confirmed the target this time was the city's BOE administration building. A similar bomb threat was also made Thursday morning to Trenton’s Board of Education Central office building. That threat was also unfounded, and office staff were able to continue with their workday.
