TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A new sculpture is close to being finished at Markle Mill Park.

Chris Trotter, the same artist who sculpted the guardian angel at the park, decided that one wood sculpture wasn’t enough.

This second sculpture depicts two children looking up at an eagle overseeing the park.

Trotter said making these sculptures is his true calling.

“The smile it makes people have and the smiles it puts on people’s faces, kids love it, and it is fulfilling, you know,” he said.

Trotter said that he wants to thank the county commissioners for letting him share his art with the community.
