Missing hardware contributes to loss of control on landing
The pilot of the Cessna 172 reported that, during the landing roll at the airport in Tucson, Arizona, the airplane veered left unexpectedly. He applied corrective action with rudder input, but the airplane continued to veer left, exited the left side of the runway, hit a ditch, and nosed over.

'Mecca of mariachi': International Mariachi Conference returns for its 42nd year 🎻
The 42nd International Mariachi Conference returns to Tucson May 1-5 with an all day mariachi meetup at Jacomé Plaza and music from supergroup Mariachi Sol de Mexico. The conference, running Wednesday through Sunday, opens with an assortment of mariachi and folklórico workshops at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave., along with nightly musical competitions at the MSA Annex, 267 S. Avenida del Convento, in the Mercado District.
Budget talks continue in Marana
At the April 22 Town of Marana Special Council Meeting, the governing body reviewed, discussed and considered the impending 2024-25 budget. Town Manager Terry Rozema and Finance Director Yiannis Kalaitzidis made the presentation to recommend the proposed budget, with information and direction received to be incorporated into the town’s tentative budget. It will be brought back to the council for consideration at the May 21 regular meeting.
