Orem allocates $3.4M to recreation, arts with city CARE tax funds
The Orem City Council on Tuesday approved this year’s recipients of CARE tax grants, which fund arts, recreation and parks through a small portion of sales tax revenue. In total, $3,420,450 was awarded to arts and recreation groups in Orem with grants varying in amount. The amount was split equally between art groups and parks and recreation, with art receiving $1,685,000 and parks and recreation $1,685,000. The remainder, a sum of $50,450, was earmarked for “administrative costs.”
