A Maple Grove man was sentenced in Dakota County Court after he pleaded guilty to indecent exposure.

Shueb Dahir, 24, will spend 45 days in the Dakota County Jail, with five days credit for time served. He will also be placed on supervised probation for five years.

He begins his sentence on May 22.

Dahir must also comply with several conditions. Some of those include be in contact with his probation officer, not possess firearms/ammunition, pay restitution determined by the court, be employed, register as a predatory offender, attend a sex offender program, have no contact with the victim, and have no contact with minor females with probation officer’s authorization.

According to Dahir’s criminal complaint, law enforcement was called to a hotel in Apple Valley in January 2023. The reporting party told police a ride share driver had exposed himself to the reporting party’s child.

The complaint said Dahir began asking the victim questions about if they were in relationship and others that were sexual in nature.

According to the complaint, once at the hotel, Dahir stopped his car and attempted to further engage the victim in conversation. He then parked his car, got out and moved into the backseat with the victim and exposed himself. The victim made multiple attempts to get out of the car, but Dahir kept pulling the victim back into the car before the victim was able to get away.

In a post-Miranda statement, Dahir admitted to exposing himself to the victim.
