Victim was kidnapped, tortured in San Jose, police say

According to CHP, as the minivan was traveling off the road it was sent into the air, struck a nearby overpass (Van Ryn Avenue), turned over, and caught fire.

California Highway Patrol said that nearby witnesses pulled four children from the minivan, including the 4-month-old infant, and three other children who were between 6 and 14 years old. Among those three children, a 6-year-old girl was taken to the hospital with major injuries, CHP added.

CHP is still investigating whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
