The courses at the Faribault Golf and Country Club and the Mankato Golf Club hosted Monday matchups between the Faribault and Mankato West boys and girls golf teams. The Falcon girls hosted the Scarlets in a 415-430 victory in Faribault, while the boys went on the road in a 320-337 loss to West.
Girls Golf: Faribault 415, West 430
The Falcons were led by junior Mariana Hager, who was the only golfer to shoot under a 90 at the Faribault Golf and Country Club. Hager shot for par on seven holes and shot for a birdie on one hole for an 87 overall.
Fellow junior Addison Thibodeau and freshman Claire Anderson tied for second on the team and tied for the third overall lowest score on the day with a 107 each. Both shot for par on two holes.
Senior Meredith Umbreit finished seventh overall and fourth on the team with a 114. Junior Jersey Hausen and senior Kaitlyn Worke rounded things out for the girls by shooting a 116 and a 117 respectively.
Mankato West was led by senior Delaney Giesen with a 95.
Boys Golf: West 320, Faribault 337
Over at the Mankato Golf Club, senior Ethan Amundson led the Falcon boys with the team’s lone score under an 80. Amundson shot for par on 10 holes while shooting for a birdie once to finish third overall with a 79.
Fellow seniors Oliver Linnemann and Logan Peroutka followed Amundson up to finish second and third on the team and fifth and sixth overall. Linnemann shot for par four times with two birdies for an 85, while Peroutka shot for par on the front nine for an 86.
Junior Micah Lenway and senior Parker Morrow tied each other for seventh overall alongside West’s Hunter Pomranke with an 87 each. Lenway shot for par five times and Morrow shot for par six times with two birdies. Sophomore Leighton Anderson rounded things out with an 88 for 10th overall.
